Robert Besford (1792–1844) married Isabella Robson at the Parish Church of St. Mary Magdelene, Mitford, Northumberland, on 18th April 1818.
Stickley Farm
Stickley Farm lies just to the north-east of Cramlington in Northumberland, and is still a working farm.
Robert Besford lived and worked there with his first wife Isabella Robson, who died at Stickley, and afterwards with his second wife Mary Marshall. Their daughter Mary was born there in 1822.

Mary Besford was born on the farm where her parents were living and working. She worked on the farm, and later as a dressmaker.
