Redesmouth

Redesmouth is a hamlet in Northumberland where the River Rede meets the North Tyne.

Robert Bestford worked at Redesmouth early in his railway career, and Countess Park, the farm where John Besford and Mary Felton lived, stands nearby on the banks of the North Tyne.

John was born at Snitter and became an agricultural labourer. He and his wife Mary Felton had seven children.
