Ann Besford (1825–1896)
Ann Besford was working as a servant at Earsdon West Forest Farm north of Morpeth by the time she was 16 years old. She had six sons, five of whom survived to adulthood.
Espley
Espley is a place in Northumberland about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Fenrother.
Robert Besford and his family were living at Espley by 1833, and his son Thomas was born there.

George Besford was born at Fenrother, Northumberland, and worked as a coal miner. He was actively involved in boat racing.
