Jack Besford's Clock

Jack Besford was presented with a grandfather clock by the Ashington Mineworkers Federation when he stood down as president in 1939.

The inscription reads:

Presented to John W. Besford by the Ashington Mineworkers Federation in recognition of services rendered as President 1930–1939

The clock remained in the Besford family until 2019, when it was donated to Woodhorn Museum, a mining museum in the former Woodhorn Colliery.
