Besford Water Tower

Besford Water Tower was built in the early 20th century to supply water to nearby Besford Court.

The water tower is located on Ladywood Road in Besford.

Besford Water Tower was a hilltop reservoir site constructed and opened in 1926 to supply water to Besford Court, and subsequently used as a Home Guard Observation Post during World War II.

In January 2025, the Evesham Journal reported that the water tower could be converted into a four-bedroom house under plans submitted to Wychavon District Council.

In July 2026, the Worcester News reported that the plans had returned. The original proposal was withdrawn in early 2025 after highways experts raised concerns, and an earlier version had been turned down by the council in 2023. KODA Architects resubmitted the scheme to Wychavon District Council, saying the proposed access to the site now met safety requirements. This time both Defford & Besford Parish Council and Worcestershire Highways raised no objection.
